Playing with Media Player Classic instead
Question : I downloaded a codec pack which
has the Media Player Classic
bundled with it. I decided that I
wanted to watch all video files with it so I
went and right-clicked an AVI file and tried
changing the association. I clicked Media
Player Classic and checked the option that
states: "Always use the selected program
to use this kind of file." But when I opened
the AVI file, the Windows Media Player pops
up instead. Why is this happening?
Usually, once the association is
changed, Windows Media Player
(WMP) shouldn't pop up again. But
try this: open WMP and go to Tools > Options.
Select the File Types tab see if there's a
check beside the Windows video file (avi)
entry. If there is, uncheck it. Try double-clicking an AVI file again.
