Cut It Off

Question : Can I disconnect my internet connection by simply disabling the network connection listed in the Control Panel? Will this really disconnect the internet? Will it cause any software issues like data corruption?

Answer : If you mean by disabling the network card, yes, the internet connection will get disconnected. No data packets will be transferred to and from the PC. If you are paranoid about this then unplug the network cable or modem from the PC. Place it far, far away in a locked box. But if you really want to terminate the internet connection permanently, then you will have to inform the ISP.
